My work explores the ridiculous cyclical structure of a desire to improve, maintain, or (pro)create a better life. My work acknowledges the gap between what one sets out to do and what one ultimately achieves. The gap is failure. My work settles and compromises. But it is not stable. The space of failure is a place of both resignation and indignation the beginning and the end. A cycle of potential.
My materials are bought from home improvement stores. I manipulate them and construct art objects. I install them in transitional spaces such as garages or homes waiting to be purchased. Once installed, I document the object in its space. After its installation, it is disassembled. I repackage and return the materials to the store. They can be used again - in another project. To be sold again.
I keep an Online database of my temporarily constructed art objects. They exist in the cloud. They are always available to print and combine in new ways. While they no longer exist, there remains an excess. There is humor. Potential.
